Workshop

Invitation

Enhanced EDDL technology enables device manufacturers to unleash the full functionality of all their devices including 'complex' devices while at the same time eliminating re-development work as new Windows versions are released.

We invite device manufacturers to attend a development workshop hosted by Siemens, Emerson Process Management and Endress & Hauser that will instruct device manufacturers on how to enhance existing DD for their HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus, and PROFIBUS devices with graphics such as waveform graphs, dial gages, trend charts, images, bar-graphs, bar-charts, and histograms as we well as persistent data storage, and a more sophisticated menu system over and above existing wizard (methods), help text, and conditionals.

The objectives of this workshop are to teach device manufacturers how to leverage Enhanced EDDL graphical elements to make hosts display their device the way they want it to appear to the user, making the device easy and fun to use. Participants will learn how to integrate their devices into EDD hosts and to provide device manufacturers with sufficient training to leave with a functioning Enhanced EDD that will work with EDDL-based hosts. The workshop will cover:

·         Overview of Enhanced EDDL and why it’s important to developers

·         The basics for implementing features for your HART, FOUNDATION Fieldbus and PROFIBUS devices with Enhanced EDDL

·         Hands-on testing of your Enhanced EDDs with SIMATIC PDM, AMS Device Manager and the 475, with support from host developer experts

This workshop will be held at the Siemens facility in Karlsruhe Germany from December 1st until December 4th, 2009. The following is a link to the Siemens facility. https://www.realestate.siemens.com/industriepark-karlsruhe/index.php

The sessions will begin at 8:30 AM each morning and wrap-up at 5:00 PM each day with the session concluding on December 4th at 12:00 PM. Please plan on bringing your device and a working DD development environment. You should also bring your 375 or 475 Field Communicator.
